Playing on TigerGaming.com

I got a letter in the mail from TigerGaming.com, an online casino, telling me how much they’ve missed me. You see, I signed up with them a while back and have since moved on to bigger sites like Absolute, PartyPoker and PokerStars. To get me to play again, they’ve deposited $25USD into my gaming account and that it would be available until December 31, 2007. It’s already February 2008 but I was still curious to see if the money was still in my account. It was.

So here I am grinding away on $0.05/$0.10 No-Limit Texas Holdem trying to build my bankroll. I can’t believe how loose/passive the players here are at this level. In many cases when I have position on a player, the pattern goes like this:

him: check
me: bet (pot-sized)
him: call
— turn or river card gets dealt here —
him: check again
me: bet (another pot-sized bet)
him: fold
— i take the pot here —

TigerGaming.Com was where I won my first online poker tournament. It was a 100-player, NLHE tourney with 8-minute blind intervals. Prize pool was $10 with the winner taking a whopping $4! Good times.
